Sustainable Process Improvement is a fully funded programme of support for small and medium sized businesses that want to reduce their costs, stay competitive, and meet current environmental legislation such as the new Scottish waste regulation.
Delivered by the Crichton Carbon Centre, the Sustainable Process Improvement programme will work businesses to review their operations, identifying opportunities for implementing or improving resource efficiency business practice.
Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme
A new mandatory energy efficiency scheme has recently been launched for medium sized organisations in the UK. Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, or ‘ESOS‘ aims to drive down emissions from our business sector helping with the European 2020 carbon reduction target. It will also help considerably with organisations keeping a lid on costs. It comes to us from article 8 of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.
It affects organisations (all except public sector organisations) with:
More than 250 employees
An annual turnover at least €50m
Annual profits of at least €43m
These organisations must have an energy audit completed and recommendations to reduce their consumption down by 5th December 2015. The penalties for non-compliance range from £5,000 to £50,000.
More information is available on the UK Govt website.
If you have any questions including how to comply with ESOS please contact us on email@example.com or 01387 702 347.
